AGI in India Grand Prize Winner

The AGI in India conference was conducted on the 23nd and 23rd of November, 2018 at the Ajeenkya DY Patil University in Pune. The theme of the conference, like that of the poster contest, was "Regional". Renowned graphic designers from all around the world who are members of the AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale) gave lectures and workshops on the forefront of design in their region, followed by the awards ceremony for the winners of the poster competition.




The Brief:


Create a typographic poster to depict what India can give to the world, based on the theme of "Regional". The poster should include the word Regional in some form.





The Process:


Introspection, primary and secondary research to decide what the concept meant to me. Concept and layout explorations, creating options and arriving at the final design after rounds of feedback.





The Outcome:


Nowadays it has become more important than ever that we strive to build a better society that values the cultural heritage of each region and respect a diversity of cultural and value perspectives. This poster aims to highlight the diversity of India's regions





About My Poster

My poster depicts various aspects of India's culture, like the architecture, food, dance, music and art forms; stories, handicrafts, and skills which have been passed down generations.

These seemingly disparate elements are all woven together to form the word "Regional", much like they all combine in reality to form the rich and diverse cultural tapestry of India.

All these cultural aspects represent India's values, vivacity and history, and these intangible art forms are definitely some of India's most iconic gifts to the world.
